As per the Victorian Popular Fiction Association Constitution (5), as from today (20th June 2022) nominations are open for the elected post of Secretary.
Nominations will be accepted until midnight (BST) on Monday 11th July 2022. If you are interested in standing for this post, please email a manifesto (50 – 150 words) explaining why you should be elected, before the close of nominations, to vpfainfo@gmail.com.
Candidates and their manifestos will be made public, and voting will open from Tuesday 12th July until midnight on Thursday 14th July (BST). Voting will be through the VPFA website. The results will be announced at the AGM at the VPFA Annual Conference.
The role of Secretary is currently held by Helena Ifill. If you have any queries about what the role involves, or other questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing Helena at vpfainfo@gmail.com.
Please note that the VPFA is run entirely by volunteers and this is a very “hands-on” role. We estimate that the role can take up 2-5 hours per week, but this varies substantially depending on the time of year and other factors (e.g. the run-up to the annual conference is often extremely busy). The Executive Committee is committed to supporting each other and ensuring that no-one takes on too much, but candidates should be aware of the time and effort involved.
